Sign Up to Participate in Auto Maidan in Los Angeles

Dear Friends,

The automaidan will be gathering at UCLA Parking lot #8 at 11 am Saturday February 24. Easiest access to this spot is to drive down Westwood Boulevard. It turns into Westwood Plaza by the medical buildings. Turn left into parking lot 8 and turn right into visitor’s parking past permit parking. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver if you have not already done so by registering. If you have not had an opportunity to get Ukrainian flags, you will be able to purchase a car flag that attaches to a car window for $20 or a larger flag for $30. You may be asked to give an interview by journalists there. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not hesitate to decline. You will be given a route (either down Wilshire Boulevard or down Sunset Boulevard). Cars will be released in groups of 10-12.

As you are driving, please keep half a car length between vehicles and observe all traffic regulations. If you wish to speak supporting slogans such as “Ukraine’s fight is America’s fight”, feel free to bring a loudspeaker with you and shout out as you drive by pedestrians. Please keep the driving speed between 15-20 mph. You must be seated with an attached seat belt. If you get separated from your group by a stop light or a non-automaidan car, no worries. The route is simple and you will end up in the right place. Make a loud noise onto the public as you drive down towards City Hall.

Suggested parking at your end point would be Grand Park Parking at 145 North Broadway, lot #10; Parking at 221 West 2nd Street, and Joe’s Auto Parks at 220 Spring South Street. The rally will start at 1 pm and it would be appreciated if you would be present before City Hall as the speakers begin addressing the crowd. If you were given a poster, please display it and return it to Olga Popel or German Simakovski before you leave. You may want to pack a water bottle and a snack as there will not be an opportunity to find lunch downtown.

Thank you again so much for your participation. It is vital that the American public and politicians realize the importance of a Ukrainian victory and survival over this genocidal war.
